How We Use Artificial Intelligence

Meridian Financial Services uses an artificial intelligence system ("TalentFlow AI") that may make or substantially contribute to decisions that affect you. This notice is provided in accordance with the Colorado AI Act (SB24-205).

AI System: TalentFlow AI

Decision Type: Candidate screening and ranking for open positions. The AI system analyzes your application materials and generates a compatibility score used alongside other factors in hiring decisions.

Decision Categories: Employment

What Data Is Collected

The AI system may process the following types of data:

Data NOT collected: The system does not process your name, age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability status, or any other protected characteristic. All candidate data is anonymized before AI processing.

How AI Is Used in Decisions

TalentFlow AI analyzes your application materials against the requirements for the position you applied to. It generates a compatibility score from 0–100 that indicates how closely your qualifications match the role requirements. This score is one of several factors considered by our hiring team.

Human Involvement: All AI-generated scores are reviewed by a human recruiter before any decision is made. The AI system does not make autonomous hiring or rejection decisions. A human recruiter evaluates your full application, including factors the AI cannot assess (e.g., cultural fit, career trajectory, unique qualifications).

Your Right to Opt Out

How to Opt Out

You may request that your application be evaluated without AI assistance. To opt out, email hr-ai@meridianfs.com with the subject line "AI Opt-Out Request" and include your application reference number. Your application will be routed to a human-only review process within 3 business days. Opting out will not affect your candidacy or the timeline of your application.

Adverse Decision Notice

If an AI-assisted decision has adversely affected you, you have the right to appeal that decision.

How to Appeal

If you believe an AI-assisted decision has negatively impacted your application, you may submit an appeal by emailing hr-appeals@meridianfs.com with the subject line "AI Decision Appeal" and your application reference number. Include any additional information you believe should be considered.

Response Timeline: We will acknowledge your appeal within 5 business days and provide a substantive response within 45 calendar days. All appeals are reviewed by a senior HR manager who was not involved in the original decision.
